Is Omega 3 Fatty Acids Keeping You Up?

Omega 3 has become a highly recommend source to maintain good health over the past few years. We are still discovering just how important it is. Unfortunately there is a lot of bad information going around that blames these fatty acids for sleep disorders such as insomnia.

Good fats are key

First lets talk about why the body needs omega 3, The body needs fats to maintain good health you just have to make sure you are taking the right fats. Saturated fats that are found in butter and lard especially trans fats, which are found in many fried foods, are the worst for your health.

Polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats however are good for your health and the scientific community has put a high value on the intake of omega 3 fatty acids. Besides being a very important to overall health they also have proven to

Keep blood from clotting
Reduce inflammation
Reduce risk of obesity
Protect arteries
Prevent asthma

And more….

The majority of people today do not get enough omega 3 fatty acids in their diet most people don’t even know the importance of this nutrient. The problem with this is, a person might be experiencing symptoms brought on by the lack of omega 3 in their diet but both the individual and their doctor don’t recognize it.

So they might get treatment or a prescription that is unnecessary. When all they really need is to increase their intake of omega 3 though diet or supplements. Some of the conditions that might exist because of the lack of this nutrient in your diet are

Fatigue
Depression
Itchy skin
Joint pain

Just to name a few.

So make sure you ask your doctor if the lack of omega 3 in your diet could be the problem if you are experiencing any of these conditions.

How much should you take?

One question that we started to address at the beginning of this article was the connection between omega 3 and sleep loss. Basically the opposite is correct, besides being beneficial in so many ways the proper amount in your diet could aid in helping you sleep.

What is the proper amount? There has been some discussion on the amount that should be taken each day. Some believe it should be based on a percentage of the amount of calories you take in each day between 2 and 4 percent.

Others believe it should be between 1 and 2 grams per day. Whichever method you decide on, test how you feel going forward and you can decide whether to increase or decrease your input. Check with your doctor and let them know what your plan is to get their advice.

There is the risk of taking too much although there has not been a defined amount that the scientific community will agree on as being too much. The best thing to do if you have any existing condition is to talk with your doctor on the effects omega 3 might have on that issue.

You can get your omega 3 through supplements however there is evidence that suggests getting them through diet is more beneficial. Some of the best foods to eat that contain omega 3 fatty acids are

    Salmon

    Tuna

    Flaxseeds

    Walnuts

    Romaine lettuce

    Broccoli

    Summer squash

    Spinach

    Green beans

    Pumpkin Seeds

    Pecans

    Tofu

    Eggs

    Leafy Green Vegetables

Oils: Linseed/Flaxseed Oil, Hemp Oil, Soya Bean Oil

So there is no reason why you cant get enough omega 3 fatty acids through your diet. But which ever way you choose make sure you are getting these essential nutrients into your diet today. Live happy and healthy.

Many people who suffer from a sleep disorder first try to find help on their own before seeking the advice of a medical professional. Which means, looking for over the counter methods and for people with sleep apnea that means an oral appliance or CPAP.

The reason sleep apnea happens is, the throat muscles tend to relax more than they should when sleeping causing the airways to narrow.

The tongue also relaxes and will collapse at the back of the throat blocking your airway. this can result in heavy snoring and frequent waking through the night. So you never get the deep sleep required for good health.

There are three types of devices that can help here. tongue retaining appliance, Mandibular repositioning appliance, and a CPAP machine. We will touch upon each of these so you have an idea of what they do and help you decide on a direction to take.

The tongue retaining appliance is designed to keep the tongue clear of the airway by suctioning it forward. This will allow your airway to remain unblocked which in turn will prevent you from snoring and the frequent waking that goes with it.

The Mandibular repositioning appliance repositions the jaw by pushing the lower half of the jaw forward instead of the tongue. But this still has the same affect on the tongue by making sure it is kept in a fixed position and doesn’t block the air passage.

There are many different styles of these two appliances out there and they come in adjustable and non adjustable types. This is a good way to test the waters to see what might work for you.

It is also less expense then going to a dentist to have something custom made. There are some things you should think about before buying one of these devices.

First, an over the counter product is not custom fitted and may be uncomfortable. Second, they lack an opening you can breathe through which forces you to breathe through your nose.

For most people this is not an issue but if you have nasal blockage such as a deviated septum this going to be a problem.

If you go with a custom made device you will eliminate these problems. However even with a custom made device some common complaints are mouth and jaw soreness at first and an increase in salivating while sleeping.

Over the Counter Sleep Apnea Device or Custom Made?

If you have found an over the counter appliance that works for you, but is still not comfortable, you can opt for a custom made device.

Talk with your dentist. If he cannot make one for you, he should be able to recommend someone who can. What is the best thing about going with a custom made device?

It is contoured to your mouth so it should be very comfortable. Also, they will be able to put breathing holes where you want them.

The last device we will talk about is the CPAP machine or (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure). The CPAP machine shoots a steady stream of air usually through a mask into the airway.

Most people suffering from Apnea is due to lack of oxygen because of the narrowing of the airway. As we mentioned earlier, this happens as the muscles in the throat area relax and the airways narrow.

Usually you will go through a sleep study to determine the extent of your Apnea. Once this study is complete and it has been determined that you need a CPAP machine, a professional will determine the air pressure necessary to help your particular situation.

This could change as needed. Depending on each individuals needs, it could be anywhere from a light stream to something more aggressive.

The main thing people have to adjust to is the type of mask they need to wear while sleeping. Although this could take some getting used to, the benefits of natural and healthy sleep far outweigh any upfront distress.

Unlike the CPAP, that delivers air through a steady stream through out the night. An automatic CPAP is available which administers air by detecting your breathing and responds accordingly.

This device does not apply a steady stream of air. Instead, the machine will adjust the stream as necessary by sensing your breathing.

The last is the BI-PAP or (Bi Level Positive Airway Pressure). Instead of a steady stream of air or a breathing sensor like the automatic, this machine will make the use of two different air pressures.

One pressure is used during inhalation and a lower pressure is used when the patient is exhaling.

No matter what type of over the counter sleep apnea device you use, make sure you have consulted with a professional. Get the proper advice.

Start out with an over the counter appliance to determine if it is the right direction before you spend more than you need to on something that is custom made.

Millions of people suffer from insomnia and are looking for some sort of relief. People often want to know if there is a particular strategy they can follow to help them get back to sleep.

The first thing anyone should do when they have lost sleep for several days or longer is to consult your doctor.

Medical advice is the first advice you should seek. It is important to have them diagnose the problem to make sure it’s not something more serious.

Now I am not saying that loosing sleep isn’t serious it can be if left untreated, you just want to make sure that you are not loosing sleep due to some other illness.

Once your doctor has determined that you are not suffering from another illness he should ask some probing questions to see if something has happened recently in your life or life style changes you might have made that could be the problem.

Of course hopefully you and your doctor can find a natural cure that will help you get back to sleep. If not then he/she will probably want to prescribe sleep medication. If that is the case then this should get you back into a natural sleeping cycle quickly.

But if the pills don’t work for you quickly and you still find yourself loosing sleep, what do you do? Most people don’t want to start taking different kinds of medications searching for the one that finally gets you to sleep.

For one thing that can get expensive plus who knows how what the side effects could be from using mutliple differenc medications. Plus if you use them over a long period of time there is always the fear of addiction.

You see the reason most people who suffer from insomnia or some type of sleep disorder is because their natural sleep cycle has been interrupted by something in their lives and they haven’t been able to re-establish it.

You need to try and find the reason you started loosing sleep in the first so you can come at it with more affective treatment.

This could be a stressful event you are going through or a change in your diet. So let’s look at a couple of strategies to get you back to sleep. Like we mentioned stress can be a huge factor for missing sleep.

If you are going to be constantly thinking of your problems then you are not going to sleep. You have to clear you mind of all thoughts of the day.

I know what your thinking easier said then done but it is essential if a particular situation in your life is causing the problem. You have to leave the events of the day for the day.

You will gain nothing by have your mind racing all night. You have to tell yourself that you will handle and resolve your problems in the day time.

During the night you have to clear you mind and think of nothing, five minutes of meditation is a great way to clear your mind of the day’s events.

Another strategy is an exercise program. This doesn’t mean running off and joining a gym or buying a dumb bell set. It could simply be a twenty minute walk after dinner.

If you want to do more, be my guest. But most experts recommend that you don’t work out to close to bed time. Make sure you finish up at least three hours before bed.

If you have enough time the morning is a great time to workout. It will give you energy for the day while making you tired enough at the end of the day for sleep.

Last, check your diet, are you eating too much or too little before bed? Either one can have an effect. How about caffeine are you drinking coffee or soda at night?

For some people too much caffeine can cause them to loose sleep if they have it late in the afternoon. This also goes for food chocolate contains caffeine.

So study your diet and see what changes you can make. This also goes for food or drink with high sugar content. All of these things can cause you to increase energy levels when you don’t want to.

The best way to beat insomnia is naturally without the use of medications if at all possible. The key to find out why you started loosing sleep, for most people this just takes a quick examination of what is going on in your life or your lifestyle.

When you have decided on the culprit you can use one of the strategies for a deep sleep mentioned above. Don’t let sleepless nights bring you down. You can start sleeping regularly again the key is to realize that there are answers and you are not alone.

With so many people suffering from sleep deprivation and loosing sleep these days, people are confused over the terms and what their actual problem is.

Sleep deprivation is not a sleep disorder but a symptom of a disorder. So you need to address the cause of your sleep deprivation in order to cure it.

If a dog is barking outside your window all night and keeping you awake, then you are experiencing sleep deprivation. Stop the dog from barking and you have solved your problem.

Insomnia is when you are not getting enough sleep or you sleep so lightly that you don’t get a recuperative sleep. Of course the side affect is sleep deprivation.

Some people find they can’t fall asleep while others wake early and cant get back to sleep. But sometimes it’s hard to find the reason you are experiencing insomnia.

Insomnia could have come on because of some new stress in your life. Could be the lack of melatonin in your system. Sometimes there doesn’t seem to any reason but becomes self-perpetuating because of the anxiety that builds up over loosing sleep.

There is a lot of debate in the medical community on the effects of sleeplessness on people. Some even believe that less sleep is better while others believe that the common adult needs between six and eight hours sleep a night.

But no matter what the common wisdom is, your body will always tell you what’s best for it. We all know how we feel when we wake up depending on much sleep we got.

Some people feel great after 5 hours sleep while others would feel tired all day getting the same amount.

So if you are walking around in a slump and feeling sleepy all day, you are either not getting enough of, or not getting a deep enough sleep.

By that I mean if you slept the normal 8 hours that usually makes you feel great, but you start to feel tired all the time then you are not getting a deep recouptive sleep.

The only way you do this is by going through the 5 stages of sleep that will allows us to have a natural sleep cycle. You have to hit stage 5 to reach rapid eye movement or REM sleep.

So if you think you got a nights sleep but are still tired you might have another issue that you don’t realize like sleep apnea. That is why it is critical to address the issue of sleep deprivation early before it can cause other health risks.

No matter how much sleep is right for you we do know that sleep itself is necessary. Those suffering from lack of sleep will start to develop symptoms of other issues that can be a result of lack of sleep.

Depression for one can be a result from insomnia. A person missing too much sleep will tend to dwell on their problem and start to believe that there is no solution.

This in turn can lead to a person becoming despondent that will feed on itself until they are in a full blown depression. Now they have two problems to worry about.

Some people worry about having an accident from the fear of getting dizzy from a lack of sleep. More than likely you will fell sluggish, less alert, and your reaction time might slow which could lead to an accident, but there is little evidence that sleep deprivation causes dizziness.

More than likely you would have to be careful of getting depression which in turn can cause a lack of appetite, and hunger can lead to dizziness.

So what starts out as lack of sleep can bring on a more serious problem like depression, which in turn causes, other issues. So people will associate their new symptoms like lack of appetite, dizziness, headaches, and nausea with insomnia.

When in reality they are the symptoms of another medical issue that resulted from the lack of sleep. So indirectly, not being able to sleep has caused your new issue but it needs to be recognized and treated for what it is.

The key is not to let this go on to long before finding a solution to your sleeping problem. Seek help from your doctor so he can diagnose your issue.

Then specific treatment can begin. Most doctors want to start you out with some sleep medication and if this gets you back to a natural sleep cycle within a few days then great.

However if you don’t find yourself sleeping normally after a few days or even a few weeks then you should seek alternative methods, you don’t want to be on pills for an extended amount of time.

There are a lot of natural methods to help you get back to sleep. Meditation or exercise programs to name a couple are excellent natural methods.

You also need to examine your lifestyle and diet to make sure there is nothing there that might be the cause of your insomnia.

If you are suffering from sleep deprivation due to insomnia or other reasons please seek help right away do not let this get out of control and become a more serious issue in your life.

Sleep deprivation can be the result of having a particular sleep disorder or some outside factor you haven’t considered. Today we will look at lifestyle and try to get some answers.

Do you have trouble sleeping? How long has this been going on? If it just started and has only been a few days or even a few weeks, it could be some changes you have made in your lifestyle recently that is the cause.

So we need to find out what has changed in order to find the cure and get you back to a natural sleep. You need to address the lack of sleep before it causes other health risks.

There are many factors to look at so we will look at a few and if your answer is not there you will have an understanding on what to look for.

The first thing to think about is, have you made any new changes in your life recently? This could be physical, or psychological. Have you added and exercise program to your routine?

Exercise, besides being good for you, is actually recommended to help you tire your body out so you will get a good night sleep but are you exercising to close to bedtime?

Exercise will raise your metabolism and get your adrenaline pumping. This causes you to have more energy and is the reason most people workout in the morning.

So they can experience the energy boost for their upcoming day. Of course not everyone is a morning person and maybe your schedule doesn’t allow you the time in the morning.

If that is the case then you will need to workout after work. So here are some rules you should follow.

You should give yourself a minimum of three hours between working out and going to bed and even then you might have to experiment with longer times.

Like I said working out will increase you metabolism and give you energy not something you need close to bedtime. The ideal time is in the morning, if you can get up earlier and get in a workout it will give you energy for the day and you will be more restful come night fall.

Sleep Deprivation and What You Eat

Have you changed your diet lately? Foods or drinks high in caffeine or sugar can have the same effect as exercise to close to bedtime.

You will have to experiment with this, for some people, even if the last time they had caffeine was in the afternoon it still can affect them at night.

Have you just started something like a new job or taken on a responsibility that you didn’t have before and it is causing some stress or anxiety in your life?

Stress or anxiety over something will cause you to dwell on the issue and your mind will overwork but not in a good way.

When your mind is working during the day solving problems in the normal course of your working day without any undo stress, that is a good thing.

Believe it or not using your mind can wear you out as much as physical labor. This will make you very tired and you should sleep well.

However, when you go to bed with a problem or problems on your mind that you are anxious about, you will be doing all your thinking at bedtime and through the night.

This can have an adverse affect on your sleeping. When your mind is racing the body is not relaxing and you become very tense. After a while, you are not just thinking about your problem, you start to obsess about loosing sleep too.

The worrying that caused your insomnia in the first place is now doubled by the worry that you will not be able to sleep. This becomes a catch 22, you loose sleep because you worry and you worry because you are loosing sleep.

You have to clear your mind of the day’s events before going to bed. Remember, you have to deal with life when you’re awake not when your sleeping, it will all be there tomorrow so tonight it’s time to escape those problems.

Meditation is a great way clear your mind and get relaxed before going to bed. All you need is about ten minutes in a place where you won’t be disturbed.

Clear you mind of the day’s events and just think of being some place peaceful. Once you feel calm and relaxed it is time for bed.

Sleep deprivation should be addressed sooner than later and these are just a few ideas of where to look and how to cope with some of the issues that might be the cause of your sleepless nights.

So take a hard look at your daily routine including diet and you will find the reason for your insomnia.

Sleep deprivation is a serious problem in many professions none more then law enforcement. We have heard the stories of truckers falling asleep at the wheel because of long hauls.

Although this can lead to a disastrous out come, police officers have to be able to respond to an emergency at any time that could put not only their lives on the line but others as well.

Police may have a greater risk for sleep deprivation because lots of departments through out the country have their officers work a rotating shift.

If you would like to find a Natural way to get back to sleep Visit SleepTracks.com and discover a natural drug free way to get back to sleep tonight.

One week they work first shift the following second and then the third shift. This does not allow the body to fall into a natural sleep cycle.

Even if they have longer periods before rotation they would just be getting in to a normal sleep cycle when they have to change again.

Another problem is, some people have a much harder time trying to sleep in the day so when they are working the night shift they are getting very little real deep sleep.

The kind of recuperative sleep one needs to feel their best is to go through all 5 levels of sleep. This way you will get to REM sleep or (rapid eye movement).

A lot of people think that they are in this stage of sleep all night, but the truth is you are only in this level for maybe 90 minutes. Then you start to come up through the other levels. This goes on through the course of the night.

If you don’t reach REM sleep then you really haven’t had recuperative sleep.

Of course for a police officer, that could be put into a tense position at any moment this is no small issue. Their reaction time could be impaired which could lead to their own injury or worse by a criminal.

what usually happens when the officer is not getting a deep sleep, is he will seek seek help from their doctor, which will probably result in a prescription for a sleeping medication, or they just might try some over the counter medication from their local pharmacy.

And though is might get some sleep at first drugs won’t help for the long term. Because of the constant shift changes, they would have to use something all the time.

One of the problems with some of these medications, especially the over the counter types, is they tend to make you sluggish the next day.

This is a big problem for police officers that have to remain sharp and have quick reaction time. Especially when faced with a potentially violent situation.

So we still have the same problem whether the officer is loosing sleep or made sluggish by the medication. This could lead to them taking other medications during the day to keep them alert while taking sleeping medication at night.

This will lead to a vicious cycle with drugs, and too much use of any drug can lead to dangerous side effects or addiction, and the lack of sleep can lead to other health risks. One answer is to get rid of rotating shifts.

If this cannot be done then extending the time between rotations would be desirable to a least one month. Even though this is still not the ideal situation.

This can give a person time to adjust to their natural sleep cycle, of course the down side is this constant adjusting has to go on for years. So the need for finding natural sleep methods is essential.

Meditation, natural sleep remedies like herbal teas, and audio disks that work naturally with the mind are some of the methods used to get back to sleep in a natural way.

So even though we are talking about sleep deprivation and police officers, no matter who you are especially if you have a dangerous occupation. You need to get help and get back to a natural sleep cycle as soon as you can.

Many people seeking help for night sweats and insomnia need to determine first, that they are not confusing the frequent waking because of night sweats with insomnia. These are two very different problems.

If you are loosing sleep because of night sweats you don’t necessarily have insomnia. It is possible that if you can find out why and cure the sweating issue you will start sleeping normal again.

There are multiple reasons why you might be having night sweats and only a doctor can properly diagnose your problem. First, make sure you have eliminated the simple reasons why it might be happening.

Is the heat on to high or are you wearing to many clothes or covers to bed? Don’t confuse over sweating with night sweats.

If you would like to find a Natural way to get back to sleep Visit SleepTracks.com and discover a natural drug free way to get back to sleep tonight.

If you have determined that none of these are the problem then seek advice from your doctor. There are many medical problems that can be the cause, such as,

Cancer
Menopause
Infections
Medications
Hormones
Neurological

Just to name a few.

So you see why you need a doctor’s opinion. They will have to do several tests in order to determine what your condition might be. For each item above your doctor can make another list of the possibilities that may be the cause of your issue.

Has Night Sweats Caused Your Insomnia?

Night sweats is a real problem and shouldn’t be brushed of as nothing serious. It could be the sign of something far worse if left unchecked. Consider these symptoms as a warning to seek help and catch the real culprit early.

Of course if you have been loosing a lot of sleep because of this issue you might have mentally worked your way into a case of insomnia also. This would have a double affect on you were you are worrying about waking because of the night sweats and when you do anxiety kicks in and makes everything worse.

Your insomnia becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. You worry about waking and you wake because you’re worrying. You have to understand that the night sweats are not causing insomnia. Yes you are waking because of them but if you solve your problem you will start sleeping.

Now if you find a way to cure the night sweats but are still not sleeping then mentally you might have worked yourself into a case of insomnia. The thing you need to do now is to get back into a natural sleep cycle quickly.

Let your doctor know you are having a sleeping problem. Most likely the first thing he will do is prescribe medication. This should be taken short term only and should get you back into normal sleep quickly. If it doesn’t then stop taking the medication you don’t want to risk side effects or addiction.

Start seeking natural ways to get back to sleep

Meditation
Herbal teas
Exercise
Audiotapes

are some ideas.

Insomnia and night sweats or any sleep disorder can usually be taken care of in a natural way. Too many people are running for the pills as soon as they have an issue whether it’s an over the counter medication or prescriptions from their doctor.

This is why the sleeping pill industry is a multi billion-dollar business. Always seek natural methods and you will find something that will help you sleep and keep you healthy.

With so many people suffering from insomnia or a specific sleep disorder, there is a lot of concern on whether or not sleep deprivation can be fatal or cause morbidity.

Although loosing sleep over a period of time is not healthy, you have a long way to go before this would lead to death.

Morbidity on the other hand can come quickly, if you choose to dwell on your situation too much without trying to help yourself. The worst thing you can do is to fall into a state of depression.

This will only add to your problem because now, you have two issues to treat instead of one.

Plus sleep deprivation in not really a sleep disorder it is the effect of something external, like noise keeping you awake.

So if you can eliminate the external issue then you solve your sleeping problem. If however this is not the case, then you are experiencing insomnia, or a sleep disorder.

If you would like to find a Natural way to get back to sleep Visit SleepTracks.com and discover a natural drug free way to get back to sleep tonight

As far as your mortality being in jeopardy it would take a long period of loosing sleep before you would need to start worrying about that. There would be several signs of your health degrading before you would consider your situation life threatening.

After awhile you will start to get run down from lack of sleep, this can lead to a weaker immune system. Once that happens, you are inviting illness and possibly diseases to take hold in your body.

So you need to solve your problem before it ever gets that far. There are lots of reasons why people have insomnia, age, diet, stress, and others, but no matter the reason, your sleep cycle gets interupted, and you have to fix that quickly.

Whatever the reason was that caused you to start loosing sleep, has taken a back to seat, and your own mind starts to take over, and your thoughts become your worst eneny.

You dwell on the fact that you can’t sleep, and your mind starts racing at bedtime keeping you awake for another night.

It is important that you get back into a natural sleep cycle. Always start with your doctor so he can diagnose the problem.

He may want to give you sleeping medication, if this gets you back sleep quickly, and you can continue sleeping without it after no more than two weeks, then your problem is solved.

However, if you are still not sleeping after getting off the medication, then you want to look into other alternatives.

You don’t want to be taking medication for month’s even years to help you sleep. You don’t know what the side effects could be, and the fear of addiction is something to keep in mind.

There are lots of natural ways to get back into your sleep cycle. Changing your diet, starting an exercise program like yoga, or walking, or meditation.

Vitamins are something else you might consider, your doctor can tell if you have some deficiencies, and if this could be the cause of your issue.

Your body produces melatonin naturally, but as you grow older, you might not be producing as much as your body needs.

This is something you can buy over the counter in the vitamin isle at your local pharmacy.

The use of melatonin can get you back to your natural sleep cycle, and can have beneficial effects for treatment of certain insomnia’s. The key is to go natural if possible and stay away from drugs.

Sleep disorders affect millions of people and they all suffer from a lack of sleep, but are they taking seriously the other health risks that can happen?

There have been several studies done through out the years, and although we still don’t know exactly why we need sleep, there is no doubt that it is essential to overall health.

Sleeping needs to have the same consideration in your health plan as diet or an exercise program. There is more proof every day the prolonged sleep deprivation can cause a wide variety of health issues.

When you are sleeping through the night in what is called a normal sleep cycle, during the day time your body and brain function at a high level.

If you would like to find a Natural way to get back to sleep Visit SleepTracks.com and discover a natural drug free way to get back to sleep tonight.

This is apparent when you have one bad night of sleep. You find yourself dragging around all day with a serious lack of energy. But if you sleep well, the next day you fell like a millions dollars.

So if you feel that bad after loosing one nights sleep, what do you think is happening to you when you start loosing several nights or even weeks?

Once your sleep cycle has been interrupted and you have not been able to get back into it, your bodies hormone levels will not be stable, metabolism, even your blood pressure can be affected.

This can result in heart disease and stroke. You see what happens, is the body, because of lack of sleep, will release stress hormones that increase your chances of having heart and stroke issues.

Lack of sleep has possible links to certain types of cancer, obesity, diabetes, and infections. Lack of sleep will weaken your immune system opening the door for all kinds of heath problems.

We know that depression can cause people to get insomnia, but that also works the other way around. To many sleepless nights can lead to depression making the problem much worse. Now you have two health issues to deal with.

Some over the counter sleep aids can be used but these should work quickly and have you back to sleeping in your normal sleep cycle in a few days, if this is not the case stop using them.

You may want to consult your doctor and get a prescription, again, if this doesn’t help in a short period of time stop using it, you want to avoid using medications if at all possible, and you definitely want to avoid long term use.

You don’t want to risk the possibility of addiction, never mind what the side effects may be. The good news is, that it takes a quiet a while of missing sleep before any of the more serious issues start to occur.

This doesn’t mean don’t worry, remember missing sleep is not something to be ignored just don’t panic. This gives you time to start seeking help now so don’t put it off.

You must face the problem, if you have been expereicing a lack of sleep you must avoid the health risks this can bring on. Seek help and find a solution that is natural if possible, that will help you get back to a normal sleep cycle and healthy life.
