Fall asleep faster and sleep longer.There are two ways most people are affected by insomnia, they either have a hard time getting to sleep or they wake early and cant get back to sleep. We want to give you a natural approach that will help you fall asleep fast and stay asleep longer. Sleep disorders come in all forms but there is a common thread we see with a lot of people and that is the mental side that causes an over active mind. Your mind might not be the reason you started loosing sleep to begin with but soon it takes over and becomes a huge block preventing you from getting back to a normal sleep cycle. What happens is you start to dread the idea of going to bed. You might not think of it all day but when bedtime comes close you start getting anxious and then you start worrying that you are going to be staring at the ceiling for another night. Your mind starts racing and you can’t stop it and this starts to be the reason your sleepless nights continue. You have to be careful not to let this go on for to long. Loosing sleep over a long period of time can lead to other health issues like depression and can weaken your immune system. Your mind is what’s keeping you awake so we want to deal with that. Of course there are over the counter drugs or sleep prescriptions you can get from your doctor but do you really want to start taking drugs to solve your problem? I prefer going natural when ever possible. Meditation is a great way to start calming your mind and getting you back to a natural sleep cycle. Now don’t panic you don’t have to take classes or get specific training. At most I would recommend getting a book that talks about the basics. But here is something you can try on your own to start with. This is a very simple relaxation technique you can do to help you get into a natural sleep cycle. Once you are able to sleep through the night and do this for a few nights in a row then you are establishing your cycle. Clear your mind of the day’s events and think of nothing, just blackness in your mind for about one or two minutes. Next I want you to think of place that you love to go or place you would love to go. This could be a beach, island, mountain or any place that makes you happy. Next you need to see yourself in this place but you are the only one around there is nobody else. The scene is calm the weather is beautiful. There are no worries in your life all your needs are taken care of and all you have to do is sit and enjoy the quiet serenity. Picture yourself getting sleepy you stretch and then lay in a comfortable position. You have no worries, like a child that has no responsibilities you are well taken care of and protected. You now see yourself lying with your eyes closed breathing slow and steady. As you continue to drift down you feel yourself falling into a deep sleep nothing can disturb you the worries of the day are left behind and there is nothing but serenity as you slowly drift off. Don’t think this can’t work, give it try and don’t just try it once and give up this technique can take a few days maybe a couple of weeks but this will reduce your stress and clear you mind and that is the effect we are after.
